The checker and software chooser run entirely in your browser. The income figures and options you enter are never sent to us or anyone else. The calendar file is created on your device.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It doesn’t use cookies, doesn’t track you across sites, and only gives us totals, such as how many people visited a page. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes standard request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect it.
How the site is funded
Some links to software providers may be affiliate links, marked ★. If you sign up through one, we may earn a commission. It costs you nothing extra. Commission never affects which products are listed or their order: the software chooser shows every product HMRC recognises that matches your answers, with well-known names first and the rest in A to Z order.
Where the information comes from
The rules come from GOV.UK guidance, linked on each page with the date they were last checked. The software list comes from HMRC’s Find software that works with Making Tax Digital for Income Tax service. It contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
This site isn’t affiliated with HMRC or GOV.UK. It gives general guidance, not tax advice. If your situation is complicated, check with HMRC or an accountant.
